About Warren

Warren Bednarz was born in Salem and he chose to stay, run the family business and raise his own family here with his wife. His children attended Salem Public Schools and Warren has been active in their school programs and other activities.

While at Willamette University majoring in Political Science, Warren began a lifelong interest in politics, local issues and civic responsibility. After graduating, he became involved in the Northgate area of Salem where there was a tremendous need for community involvement in the early 1980’s. Following that, he was intimately involved with the downtown area and has been a member of the City of Salem’s Downtown Parking Advisory Board as well as a Past Presidnet of the Salem Downtown Association.

Warren’s involvement is not confined solely to political issues and economic redevelopement though. He and his wife are active in Salem Rotary Club and he serves on the board for Marion Polk Food Share. He and his family have long been supporters of Salem’s growing arts and music offerings and he is a daily user of Salem’s park system who also has given generously of his time to help repair and advocate for our parks.

Warren’s successful business background has been useful as well as he has served on several task forces and committee including the West Salem Redevelopment Advisory Board and the Salem River Crossing Committee, the committee responsible for siting the third bridge across the Willamette River.

Warren chose to live and work in Salem because of his love and respect for this community and the people who also choose to live here. His energy, enthusiasm, knowledge and experience will serve us well on the Salem City Council.
